Do you know what to do, but you don't do it? Do you understand what to do, but you don't take action? Is it clear in your mind, but you don't get started?
Then you have the knowledge, the understanding and the theoretical background. Congratulations, this is very important. This is the first step.
And have you heard the saying that "knowing without doing is not knowing"?
That means there is an important second step.
We have to apply our knowledge, because there is so much more to learn when we put it into practice. Knowing how to cut the grass is one thing, but doing it teaches us so much more. Cutting wet grass is different to cutting dry grass. And the longer the grass is the longer it will take to cut it, doesn't it? These are important differentiations, aren’t they?
Learning how to swim on dry land - maybe even stretched over a chair - is totally different to swimming in water. Water has more resistance than air, but it takes less strength to hold us up. That’s important to know, isn’t it?
What about all of our soft skills and social behaviours we know about? It's the same thing: knowing without doing is not knowing.
The same applies to our attitude to wealth, health, work, spirituality and family.
Only when we jump into the pond to swim instead of standing on the edge, when we immerse ourselves totally, when we take the lawn mower out of the shed and start cutting the grass we gain the knowledge we are really after.
Knowing can take place sitting or lying on the couch and thinking about things. The "real" knowing only happens when we throw ourselves into action.
In case of doubt if you are not sure what you want just ask yourself "do I want to think about life or do I want to live it?"
Do you have further questions about Knowledge and Immersion, YES, we will answer your email.
